"Misty Swan" Original 6" x 6" Acrylic Daily painting on 3/8th gessoed hardboard. Swans are beautiful creatures. Inspiration for art and stories such as, The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Anderson. So graceful in the water and very soothing to sit and watch. Soothing that is, until they leave the water and you find yourself running for dear life.
They are members of the duck family and one of the largest flying birds. They can be pure white, or mixed black and white plummage. Swans are monogamous, that was something I did not know. They also have "divorces" where they switch mates.
The beautiful thing about being an artist are the things I learn about the subjects that inspire a particular piece of art.
