At Day's End - Daily Painting 8x8 Acrylic

Something more on the whimsical side.  Two birds sitting in a tree at days end, enjoying the last bits of sunlight.  This is acrylic on gesso primed hardboard panel.  The size is 8x8 inches and 3/8th inch thick.  This painting is for sale in my etsy shop.

Together - Two Cherries in Oil

I recently got some water mixable oils and finally had a chance to try them out.  We are remodeling the house and I didn't want any dust settling in a drying with the paint.  This is a small 6x6 inch oil painting on a Raymar Plein Air Canvas panel.  I'm using Artisan Water Miscable Oil Paint (Winsor & Newton).

So Yeah, Mondays - The Bird

So yeah, Mondays.

We all have them.  It would seem no matter what language it is in, a Monday is Monday.  Why do we dislike Monday so much?  For some people it's the start of 5 days of school.  Some of you parents maybe doing a little song and dance at that thought.  For most people though, it's the start of a long work week.

I've found if I'm ever going to have "one of those days".  It almost never fails to be on a Monday.  You know, those days where things just come at you straight out of the blue.  With that thought came this little illustration.  So I've never had a little green man show up and pluck feathers.  I have on more than one occasion had regular old earthlings ruffle my feathers.  Sometimes, you just gotta say what the HE double hockey sticks).

It's Spring and we were out gardening and enjoying the sunshine after a cold winter.  I came inside later to paint and felt something crawling on me.  Low and behold a ladybug had hitched a ride inside the house on my sleeve.  


Ladybugs are insects that are not only pretty to look at but harmless natural pest control.  Ladybugs are loved by farmers & gardeners, they can eat thousands of aphids during their 3 to 6 week lifetime.


Fun fact: While their color & spots make them favorites for people, they actually serve as a deterrent to predators.

It's Chili Inside. Peppers that is!

It's that time of year for gardening and this year we plan on growing some vegetables.   Homegrown tastes so much better than what you find in the grocery store.

My Dad has a green thumb.  We had a huge garden when I was a teen-ager.  One year we grew so many watermelons they were stacked up in the dining room and we were giving them away to everyone hehe.

Acrylic on 3/8th thick gessoed hardboard 6x6 ready to frame.  Great little piece for kitchen decoration.

Finally back to posting & painting.  I grew up in California. I used to love sit and watch the waves and daydream.  They were so relaxing and beautiful.   I live in the midwest now.    The things I miss most are family, friends, the ocean, the weather and Disneyland in that order.

This is a 4x6 Watercolor study (I use Windsor & Newton tubes) for a larger painting I'll be doing.
