This is a WIP (work in progress) of a 20"x16" acrylic painting on canvas. Still layering in the colors on the carp and deciding if I want to add a couple more to the painting. Seams kind of lonely with only one, and when is there ever only one koi fish lol. Used very thin glazes and washes of acrylic paint, an orange mix and a blue/green mix.
I've always loved Koi fish ponds, they really seem to be a sociable fish. Beautiful and varying in their colors. While not the size of a whale they aren't your typical home aquarium size either. They remind me of colorful catfish with their whiskers.
